SPECIAL SESSION: |
SCOPE: |
SS1 |
‘SCIENTIFIC VISUALIZATION
AND IMAGING SYSTEMS’
Organized by:
Prof. Fabiana R. Leta
Federal University Fluminense, Brazil
….more info
|
Scientific visualization and imaging processing are multidisciplinary areas, with applications in many knowledge fields such as engineering, medicine, physics, geology, among others. This special session aims to stimulate discussions on research involving the use of digital images as an understanding approach for analysis and visualization of phenomena, experiments and cases. We encourage paper submission considering any imaging topic and scientific visualization, which brings technological innovation on its methods and applications. |
SS2 |
‘ADHESIVE BONDING’
Organized by:
Prof. Lucas FM da SILVA
University of Porto,
Portugal
Prof. Jean-Yves Cognard
ENSIETA,
France ….more info
|
This Session is focussed on joint mechanics but all the other aspects of adhesion science and technology are also discussed such as adhesion science, surface preparation, adhesive properties and environmental conditions.
|
SS3 |
‘BIOMECHANICS’
Organized by:
Prof. Saied Darwish
King Saud University,
Saudi Arabia
darwish@ksu.edu.sa

This Session will address related issues on reliability and performance of composite materials and structures. Recent advances in composites R&D covering the areas of micromechanics, damage and fracture mechanics, numerical modeling and experimentation will be discussed |
SS5 |
‘NUMERICAL MODELING OF MATERIALS UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS’
Organized by:
Prof. Nicola Bonora
Università di Cassino, Italy
Dr. Eric N Brown
Los Alamos National Laboratory,
USA
….more info
|
The numerical modeling of material response under extreme conditions, such as those occurring under high dynamic pressure, impact, elevated temperature and triaxial state of stress poses a number of challenges from both theoretical and and computation point of view. The scope of this special session is to bring together researchers to discuss and share experiences all different aspects associated with the simulation of material behaviors and response under extreme loading conditions. |
